This silent movie "The Ring" from Alfred Hitchcock is a classic "love triangle" story of a woman trapped between prize fighting suitors. Jack is at the top of his boxing game, but his newest challenger is more interested by his pretty fiancée than he is to get into the ring with the champ! The ultimate conflict of jealousy ensues!
"The Ring" is the only film Hitchcock took or was given full writing credits in his entire career, and did not base the scenario on a novel. The director himself rated this silent film as amongst his best, right along with "The Lodger". It was also the first film on which he worked with his future wife Alama Reville.
