Acrylic Pouring Painting Fluid Abstract Art Spun Out Ring Pour
Hello Friends! Welcome back! I've been watching several YouTube artists using a cake spinner or lazy Susan to spread the pours instead of tilting.. and I really wanted to try it! I was watching Karen Durshin of Waterfall Acrylics spin some of her amazing bloom pieces and asked my Husband of Awesomeness if he had anything that spins like that.. he said he did! He used my old washing machine drip pan (this is what I poured in when I first started) and attached an industrial monitor turntable to the bottom.. and boom! We are ready to rock and roll!
My colors are:
-Pearl Cactus Green
-Flow Acrylic Black
DecoArt Americana Decor Metallics
My Pouring Medium is:
-Liquitex Gloss Medium
-Liquitex Liquithick Thickening Gel
(Only in the Art Alchemy colors)
24x24 Gallery Wrapped Canvas
There is NO Silicone in my paint

I layer my cup carefully down the side, keeping contrast in mind.. (light dark light dark)
I put the 24x24 canvas in the center of the drip pan and pour a puddle of gold in the middle, then I pour my cup into the pillow of gold.
I put my thinned out flow extender around the pour and spread it out to tge corners and edges. Then we spin! It was a lot of fun, and I really enjoyed the science behind how it's moving and spreading outwards.. centrifugal force!
There are some parts I loved, but the Dragonfly color was not my favorite..and I end up layering another cup(without Dragonfly)and pouring that on top then spinning it out. There was nothing wrong with the first pour, it just wasn't what I wanted and I still had paint left..
I really love the second pour. Its slightly off center and looks like a cross section of something.. I really love the curve of the ring pour that stayed intact, with that bright gold edge..so cool!
This was a lot of fun to do, if you have the chance give it a try! You might want to put the spinner inside a box with tall sides, paint WILL fly around!
I hope you guys enjoyed this video, I learned a few things about what I like in the dried piece and what I don't. Every pour teaches me something new, and this one was really fun!
